intimate and personal portrait session
My own process moved forward because of The Session, as something in me changed during it

I found myself saying things like “Hi”, “Hey”, or “I can’t believe what just happened”, as though I were greeting a side of my client that had quietly stepped out from behind a curtain. I felt it intensely: the shifts in energy, the surge and afterglow of emotion, and everything in it that felt profoundly human.
To be trusted in that way is an immense privilege. It moved me deeply, and it still does. As a photographer, I was able to form a connection with my client that is not easily reached. I was allowed into her world for a moment. I was allowed to be a safe, trusted presence with whom there was no need to put on a mask. I don’t know if I could have hoped for anything more, because it all felt so vast and meaningful.
Words feel so flat. If only I could bottle up my experience and hand it to you. You wouldn’t believe how wonderful, poignant, gentle, and intimate a photo session can be.
