Skin textures and photography. How does skin appear in photographs?
Many factors affect how skin texture is rendered in photographs. Is the image taken in natural light? In a studio? Is the light “hard” or “soft”? How does the photographer edit the images afterwards? What kind of texture are we talking about? These are all relatively easy to answer technically, but I want to talk a little more generally about skin.
What Inspires Me as a Photographer?
I’ve recently had many conversations about what inspires me as a photographer. These conversations have felt meaningful, but also very vague. I have repeatedly struggled to put into words what I feel, what I see, what it awakens in me, and where all of this leads. In this text, I’ll share what you can do so that the real, authentic you shows up in your photos.
